Just finished a first time watch of twin peaks, fire walk with me, and the return
Genuinely Amazing tv and movie. The characters, charm, and vibe of the og show had a beautifully sincere and serene tone to it, which was quite refreshing compared to everything else Iāve seen. While i enjoyed the return only slightly less, i think FWWM might be my favorite part of the whole series; i loved how it looked in 4k on my tv and how they depicted Laura palmers story.
Watching this show concurrently with a first time watch of David Lynchās filmography has shown me his mastery, i especially enjoyed mulholland drive while on shrooms. All of his movies are such visceral experiences for me, which is rare. Him and malick occupy the same territory in my head

What did you think of Inland?
Canāt wait for lost highway. Mystery man.
I wish they didn't have to recast Donna in Fire Walk With Me...otherwise it's a crazy experience fr
my favorite films of his are definitely Blue Velvet and Mulholland Drive though...Lost Highway and Wild At Heart are pretty fun too and Eraserhead is just a bizarre experience you can't forget lol...haven't seen his other ones yet

inland empire actually gave me nightmares so I rate it highly. I just found it a bit long, though the payoff at the end is completely worth it
I like how unhinged everything is, watching it feels like a black hole is consuming me
Ima see if I can watch lost highway on the weekend. Going into every movie blind has been amazing

Moira Kelly was a better Donna tbh

Oh yeah come back with your lost highway thoughts. I really understand his emphasis on not subscribing to what others tell you the art in question āmeansā oreārepresentsā and how itās about your experience with it, but there are a few proposals letās say about mulholland and lost highway that i think are fascinating ways to view them.

Iām curious to know how people view mulholland drive. I felt there was a lot going on in the first watch, but I enjoyed it as like an LA/hollywood dreamscape film. So many great vignettes
the scene with Ed and Norma.
Lynch had Otis Redding playing in the background when he shot the scene and broke into tears. It's so beautiful man

one of the best scenes in the entire series
such a beautiful send off to two of my fav characters
just got this recommended. amazing scene that tbh in the depths of S2 I never gave proper attention maybe

Moira Kelly was a better Donna tbh
Nah. Say what you want about Lara but she got that pretty but annoying best friend try hard thing down
Hardest song ever made lmfao

Also up there
tried doing my first full watch but could only get up to end of season 2 + halfway thru the movie
honestly avoided this show until recently cause i just knew this wasnāt going to be for me and i was right. if i didnāt have some friends who really wanted me to experience s02e22 i prolly woulda stopped after s1. kinda glad i finished s2 but donāt care enough to wanna finish the movie or s3.
sorry if i let you down

you're right before the best part of the entire series bro pls... season 3 is the payoff for sitting through the bullshit that is the second half of season 2. when i originally watched years back i stopped midway through season 2 for the same reason. keep going!

man thatās they said about s2e22 too bro that s*** was 22 hours
can i skip the movie and go straight to s3 then?
the movie is missing the silliness from the tv series which i prefer ngl

lmfao honestly I would take a little break and then watch the movie and then S3. S3 is like an entirely different thing itself that I love way more than the original series/movie combined. it's a more serious bleak tone overall but definitely way funnier & sillier than the movie throughout a lot of it, the movie is just depressing as hell for most of it. S3 is the best thing lynch ever did imo

Def donāt skip the movie. Itās a primer for s3. It is heavy though so get ready
