i definitely think im late to this but when cooper is speaking to the new owner of the palmer house in the very last scene, the new owners name is alice tremond and they purchased the house from a mrs. chalfont. chalfont/tremond are the two names the old woman from the black lodge who gave laura the painting she hung on her wall in fwwm that first introduced her to the lodge.

it makes the ending so much more tragic because it feels like we were so close to maybe starting to piece stuff together, but instead it finished more unsure and confusing than ever

They suffered the same fate as

    i fear

    non existence

The Return is more so meant to be taken holistically. They're not really important as individual episodes outside of E8 which had a specific purpose. They wrote a long script as if it was a movie, filmed the entire thing and only then began cutting it up into episodes. It just goes on and on as Lynch and Frost put their pieces into place

it's a weird experience that almost never feels like it adds up until you've completely finished it and have time to reflect.

You seem to be doing good so far tho. Last time i watched this i had a friend who i was stressing this to and she wasn't buying it at all. Was very frustrated with the season from the first few episodes right until she saw the ending and then it became an all time fave lol.

I have just two eps left and it's definitely happening the same to me.
Ngl Lynch adding new questions left me frustrated, some episodes bored me to death, but when you connect the dots is so damn satisfying.
It's definitely a series that needs a re-watch, I might appreciate season 3 even more if I'll ever do it.

If only S2 followed Lynch direction...

I originally skipped Fire Walk With Me cuz I thought it was just a summary of s1+2. Boy, that s*** was so fire. It was a great conclusion. It really drives home a lot of the themes from the show and we really get to know Laura Palmer

Ewww. That was a horrible movie. First one too. Glad I ain't see the show

Huh? FWWM is the first one. Are you talking about the Missing Pieces? Cause if that’s the case, it would be a lot better with context of the show & FWWM

getting close to my first rewatch of the return

There's only 1 feature film in the Twin Peaks universe? Also your taste is trash if you think FWWM is a horrible movie lol it's up there with Lynch best work and one of his most hard hitting films on an emotional level

Lynch adding new questions had you frustrated? But.... that's the most Lynch thing ever what did you expect bro

The Return is probably one of his greatest contributions to cinema ever and that's saying a lot given his body of work throughout the years

    absolute GOAT

    fair warning

it doesn’t get better then that..

    as a fan of s3

Disagree, i can't even see them as episodes or parts it's basically an 18 hour long film, no way that i'd be able to judge them seperately

Don't watch videos that ''explain'' it, i've seen them all on Youtube and every single one of them is trash and doesn't ''get'' Lynch and what his works stands for

If you're familiar with his work then you realise there's no answers that can be explained in words, it's all about feeling your way through things

Watching a video ''explaining'' Twin Peaks will just ruin it for you, just trust me on that one. Especially that one garbage video (the TP ''actually'' explained one). Besides it making no sense and being full of reach moments, like i said it also ruins what Lynch is trying to convey with his work

You won't find any true answers, besides the ones that you're gonna consider head canon. That's just how it is with Lynch

  • Oct 17, 2022

TP being this unsolvable puzzle also fits the universe thematically, even if it may feel frustrating at first

If you’re into podcasts I recommend “Diane”

Best Twin Peaks commentary out there and they still keep the mystery and spirit of the story while adding a lot of interesting and pretty unique perspective.

def ponder on it and explore different videos, but i honestly recommend avoiding the first vid posted itt. at least until its been a while

it's impressive work and the guy creates lots of connections, but his view seems reductive and he starts the video so annoying like "this is so clearly what twin peaks is about that it's going to RUIN the whole mystery for you!"

I see where are you coming from but in general I love for many medias to look for theories and different opinions, especially for a complex one like this!

  • Oct 17, 2022

A random theory I like btw is that Maddy was a tulpa of Laura

Wish they have done more with her and Josie storylines
