Where would you guys rank Fire Walk With Me in Lynch his filmography?
Mulholland Drive & Blue Velvet top 2
And then Lost Highway & FWWM keep changing between 3 & 4 lately

That's difficult for me to choose but I'll have to say Fire Walk With Me by a very slight amount. FWWM is my favorite Twin Peaks related thing David Lynch has done.

Wow, wild ranking
I had Blue Velvet at #5 or so too until my recent rewatch. F***ing classic
Wild at Heart is super fun but like.. there's not really a point to it imo and it doesn't stick in the back of my head after watching like literally all his other feature films

I'd argue that it has the best soundtrack ever out of any Lynch project

True about Wild At Heart but that doesn't stop it from being his wildest ride while you're watching it
Still have to watch Inland Empire
Yeah this is the last Lynch film i have left lol. Been waiting for the right moment idk if it'll come

Yeah i know it's your favorite (or at least up there) Lynch
And i don't deny how fun it is either. It's dumb and over the top and Nic Cage was born to play this role for sure
All his other films just tend to wander in my mind every time i revisit them which makes me appreciate them more

Inland Empire is def not an easy one to tackle but i feel like it's reputation isn't really warranted. Everybody seems to enjoy The Return and if you can put up with everything in that season, plus enjoy his other work, then there's a big chance you'll get something out of Inland Empire too
I've seen it 2 times in full now and yes it is very drawn out, it isn't all that cohesive even for his standards but it still has the same spellbinding effect on me like his other works
Just watch it imo

Probably 4th or something but yeah I just enjoy how bonkers the ride is
The Return definitely my favorite Lynch

The drip of details until release going to be punishing

I always thought in terms of features that it was your fav
whats your top 3 besides The Return then?

Oh yeah totally forgot, it's always all bad reviews on lbxd so your 5 stars stick out like a sore thumb for sure
Personally not a fan, besides the amazing set designs

I'm probably just a slave to nostalgia cause I grew up watching it
Still never felt like giving Mulholland Drive more than 3 stars

Yeah that's kinda sus tbh! Mulholland Drive is by far my favorite film of the 00s

Brilliant film but wouldn't individually put it in my top 3, maybe even 5. Essential part of the series though which overall is my fav thing Lynch has done so

I've realized I'm into visceral experiences over more cerebral ones so stuff like Mulholland doesn't hit as hard for me.
Don't have an overwhelming #1 for the decade but top 3 is maybe;
Serious Man
Speed Racer
There Will Be Blood

Try the Spicediver cut on youtube some time, sorta approximates a Lynch cut of the film and fixes a lot of the more jarring things about the studio version.
Made me enjoy large portions of it quite a lot tbh, need more psychedelic Lynchian sci-fi like that tbh

Serious Man is much more intellectual to me tbh
I'll always defend MD against accusations of being random or nonsensical because it's very intricately crafted, but at the same time I think the enjoyment comes from how the story is told through sound, colors, camerawork, acting etc. For me it made sense on an emotional level before I understood it intellectually.
Sound design in particular in the film is just insane
