this feels like somebody’s memory of a show & it’s fading away
I was just doing a szn 1 rewatch and it would be cool to do a prequel about sam Tuttle and billy Childress and the generation that came before Errol (maybe it would occur when Errol was a child). so much good backstory to explore
now u can't have some true detectives going after them only to fail (obviously they didn't solve the full scope of things) but maybe there's 1 bad guy they catch
as for bringing back mcpconaughey and Harrelson in a sequel, that could be fine too if he writes it well. I trust mcconaughey and Harrelson would only do it if its a good script, not just some s***ty sequel
i love sxn 1 so much but this is pretty desperate and will likely be quite terrible
This is the only way to save/end the franchise. Do it

likely be terrible? So what, Matthew and woody show up and they forgot how to act? Nic wrote s1 i trust him if he brings it back.
Nahhh let them cook

Season 1 was lightning in a bottle with years of deliberation. We can get pizza, Fukunaga, woody and Mathew for a sequel but it just won't capture the same magic

thing is fukunaga will not return and he kinda a bigger part of why sxn 1 was so good than nic

are you a director? I feel like directors are the only people in the world who think directors are more important than a good script
No director, even fukunaga would’ve made the script for season 4 a classic like s1, it’s the writing that makes or breaks it
the truth is that fukunaga ain't all that and nic is also not all that
they completed each other's shortcomings and made something nice.
both ain't s*** but I'll still watch something that involves woody and mcc

This is def true for tv yeah, with movies a director can still save a mediocre script imo. Even though I thought season 4 also looked s***.
Lowkey still scared to rewatch season 1, been like 6 years since I first saw it but I fear I might find it corny if I watch now that I’m older

Season 3 ends on a kinda solid note but tbh you saw S1 and thats the peak. Everything else this show has done is either just ok (s3) or downright ass (s2 and s4) so you really not missing anything crazy
