Decent 2nd episode, but I kinda felt it dragged on a bit compared to the 1st episode

This bugged me more than the poster. Voicework just slotted in without thinking about the actual pace of the convo.

I don’t care if they’re throwing in the season 1 tie ins for views. They have my attention.

I still didn’t love this episode, but it has at least piqued my interest. Kali Reiss still feels a little flat to me. There’s also way too many needle drops (nitpick, but it bothers me).

Yeah I found myself getting bumped by how off the timing is on everything, from individual performances (the kid detective, the schizo sister) to the needle drops -which are absolutely incessant, this is like Goodfellas for anyone who was running an Ezra Miller fanpage on tumblr

Like in this most recent episode, an eerie rising music sting continues from a scene that’s meant to be spooky a second and a half too long into the shot of the police station they’re match-cutting to, and then you get the foley of chairs moving and coffee cups clinking etc. it was like the show was a stage play and they had to wait for the sound cue to end for them to start the next scene. Get it together!

Okay but the disco needle drop and dancing being followed up by "yeah my dad was a stoner hippie" was brutal. They didn't even land the right cultural signifier!

I actually like the Billie intro and thought the Beach Boys one was funny. Twist and Shout was pretty weird.
