Unless we were in the prog rock era, a song is always meant to do well, they put lot of recording studio time into it, write it redo takes approve mixing and s*** lot of salary to pay, big names involved, it’s always meant to give the best first impression of their efforts especially if it’s a first lead single drop, ofc they’re excited for whatever else they got in store and it’s probably even better but they aren’t gonna sell short for a first drop with something lesser, that’s suicide because that’s when you get the most traffic and attention
