So good
what do all those knobs even do
see when you zoom in and it has the labels by the knobs ? the rest is basically the leveling of that select isolated sound, the channeling of left ear to right ear, the effects + leveling of the effects (eq and reverb would be higher on the isolated vocals for travis in particular)
etc
most of them arent significant though mike dean knows which ones he needs specifically for what mix he has in mind
he doesnt tweek all of them or anything

looks like they’re mixing this track then?

definitely looks liked it
confused on the caption being beefed up beats but theres labels that say VOX so it’s definitely a song. unless theres a vocal sample or something i guess
also only two vocal channels versus god knows how many instrumental ones
i really assumed travis would have way more for adlibs but i guess not

maybe adlibs were done in 1 take? or it could be 1 take vocalizing

i bet the copy paste “straight ups” and “la flames” are done on a DAW as opposed to other backing tracks

most likely

yea artists that have standard adlibs usually have a folder for them
travis ones from 2016 leaked a long time ago actually

not really lol

that’s an ssl console, costs like 100k don’t think a travis song has ever been summed through one lmao
mike dean uses a neve console but does 90% of the mixing in the box (pro tools) and then sums everything through the neve at the end because it gives him a little more headroom to make s*** louder and i think he said it “glues” stuff together a little better
