@op Security will never stop you for having cigarettes, smokeless tobacco, vape pens, or other things of that nature. I took half a dozen flights between 2018 and 2019 and always took multiple vape pens and juice refills in my carry-on every time.

The only reason would get a vape pen confiscated or be held up from boarding is if you were smoking it indoors at security, your gate, or on the actual plane.

There is a zero percent chance that any TSA person will ever inspect a bag because of a vape pen, let alone ask you what it is.

Not only are they not looking for them whatsoever, it is literally TSA policy that e-cigs and vape devices are permitted in passengers' carry-on luggage:

You're not allowed to have vapes/e-cigs in checked luggage because the difference in pressure below the cabin is a risk because the batteries might combust.

You can literally stop at a gas station and buy 25 juul devices, open all of them, put them in a backpack, and walk through security with no issues.
