kuxanIdk bruh I thought it did not sound like it was inspired by the 80s. Abel certainly took inspiration from that time period for the visuals but in terms of production and sound nothing really sounds all that 80s to me.

Hardest to Love, Scared to Live, Blinding Lights, In Your Eyes, Save Your Tears
That’s a good chunk of the album and most of the singles. The rest sounds like an update of his own sound. It’s a testament to his artistry that they’re cohesive together.

Yeah but that's my point. The 80s influence on the production of those tracks doesn't give into the actual sound like it does on Alone at Prom. Which in turn makes it sound more along the lines of his earlier work instead of a full on 80s revival. If it weren't for the obvious presentation people wouldn't be calling After Hours a 80s inspired album outside of the tracks i mentioned in another comment here.
This also isn't supposed to be a knock on After Hours or anything

chixtape 5 was an insane body of work, like every chixtape. AOTY 2019 easily imo.
