managed to get a few high-20 and low-30 hours this weekend, s***s def took a hit but the weekend is still good

just did a monday lunch shift and it was total ass though

i think we’re probably just getting the usual s***ty shifts we get from time to time and are using the pay drop as a scapegoat though(or at least i was) like at worst this takes off like $2.50 from your hourly pay if you’re banging out super quick orders. it sucks, but it isn’t the end of the world

and if it drives away the people accepting the good orders, more for us

So I finish this Uber Eats order, right?

And this guy comes out next door and asks me if I can give him a ride to the Metro PCS down the street. I accepted the order.

We get there. He takes about 10 minutes. No biggie. Offers to get a pizza after, I politely decline.

We’re leaving and we’re going down these back roads. And as the small talk turns into long talk, I start to realize I might have made a small mistake.

This dude is talking nonsense and is a tad fidgety. Something is clearly off about him as nice as he may be.

We finally get back to his house. And then he won’t get out the car and wants to trade my number. Asks me if I like “cinema”….

Clearly this guy wanted a friend. At this point ive told this guy 3 times how much I’m trying to get back to my paper chase, until he finally gets out of my car….

But the final things he says to me are “sometimes you just need a buddy”
no. No I don’t!

I left.

I did this a few years ago and I'm hopping back on it on Monday cus I'm broke as dirt and gotta pay off some parking tickets and take this shawtie on a date 😭

yesterday I delivered to the weirdest house.. the front looked relatively normal, just a mansion with trees lining the front of the yard so you couldn’t see anything behind. The driveway circles around to the back of the house where I was supposed to deliver. I started to pull around, but stopped once I was past the line of trees.

2 giant Mayan heads twice the size of my car lay on their sides near the drive way. About 100 ft out there was some kind of pedestal with what appeared to be mammoth bones resting on top. The trees were grown to have rings around the trunk like dr Seuss trees.. I feel like I would have found much more if I had gotten out and looked around like I wanted

then not only did the tip jump to $44, but the British lady at the door handed me a $20 bill. I had to stay in the driveway and soak it all in for a minute.

Double order: $22, 17 miles
Panera Bread/Trop Smoothie

Now normally I wouldn’t accept an order like this because lunch shift is dry, and I would be driving 17 miles back home unless I picked up another order, but I said f*** it anyway because rent is due soon.

First order slightly out the way but close to the area.
Second order is approx 12 miles from first order. I continue.
After a decent 15-20 mins I finally get to the drop off.

I call. A woman answers. She explain to me the order is for her husband and that I should manually call the number she put in the notes.

So I call. A man answers. I explain to him I’m here and he can come get his food. I tell him I’m at the front of this College by administration……..
Then he tells me he is not there 😐😐😐😐😐😐😐😐😐😐😐😐

He tells me he is about 6 miles back so I basically passed this moron and went an extra 12 miles out my way.

Anyways, after letting out a big sigh and telling him sarcastically that it would be important to put the right location in the app (even though it’s technically the wife’s fault for blindly ordering something without thinking about the delivery location) I hung up and had a nice meal.

Hopefully I get to keep the $20
