Timbo thinks that with time, people will come to accept A.I at the forefront of music. I don’t agree. When there isn’t a single human element in the mix, that uncanny valley effect turns a lot of people off. Autotune? A tool for a human to use. A.I used in the context that he’s using it in is not the same deal.

Timbo is gonna learn the hard way when this idea crashes and burns and he has to admit it was a failure to everyone who he either wrote off as ignorant or “behind” the times.

I think AI will be used for years to come in the music industry, but not as the main star, but as the “man” behind the curtain, being used to make the process easier. Like being able to manipulate an audio track to divide elements of a stem, or creating a sample that isn’t copyrighted for someone to chop up.

You’re right, AI will probably continue to be further incorporated into the music process. It's not going to go away as a tool, such as separating stems that couldn't be separated before for example. But the Timbo way of having it do everything upfront and having a face? Thats not gonna fly.

Timbos way isn’t gonna fly, no matter how good the voice sounds or even the music. A huge part of what makes a music star a music star, is the human personality or image that comes with them, their story. Being able to support them etc.

I’ve seen a few defenders try to use Gorillaz as an example of a successful music venture that isn’t “real” or “human” per say, but that’s a stupid comparison. Gorillaz was the brainchild of 2 HUMANS, one who made the music and the other who animated their looks and created their personalities. It’s not like their entire personas and musical identity were created with a prompt through a computer.

If Timbo doesn’t have it in him creatively anymore without dying on this hill and soiling his legacy, he should just retire. Because, all he’s doing is just pissing off 95% of his audience alike.
