90s nostalgia is big, big business. Look what happened when Stranger Things dropped nearly a decade ago and synth-pop exploded. Now who own big popular commercial property are setting up shop and cashing in.

The Droogs from a Clockwork Orange were extras in the Space Jam sequel Studios not giving a flying f*** and exploiting their backcatalogue of movies hence the never ending stream of remakes, sequels, merchandise and partnerships.

I will say with Beetlejuice in particular it’s had the luck of being a yearly Halloween flick especially with tv reruns, helped it remain relevant in pop culture even in the 2000s

Also it had a very successful musical based on the film a few years back. And with recent buzz from Winona from stranger things + Burton & Ortega from Wednesday kind of leaves it in the perfect position

That Stranger Things x Wednesday target market might be all they need for this to be a hit

really enjoyed it besides the Maitlands just randomly reviving without explanation, i still really enjoyed their characters probably more so than beetlejuice himself funny enough
