Nah it was some executive saying it but I doubt it makes any difference.
The 2021 Sony documents expected Future and Travis albums that year and neither came out.

I'm so weirded out by how silent Travis been man
It's been 6 years since his last solo project, can you even imagine the pressure of following that? Not to mention that the album was MONUMENTAL.
What is he cooking? When will the meal be ready? I just need a new era to start man, I know he won't disappoint.

Last update was this summer after the rest of the cactus Jack slate drops

I need this rollout to start in some way or another, at least do some billboards or cryptic s***

I think it’ll drop in august, rollout definitely starting in June, if it’s gonna drop this year

Some people swear that he won’t drop more singles, since escape plan / mafia was the single, but it’s been almost 2 years since then

I personally think he’ll drop too much power / gods country or maybe some new songs soon

It's ok if he doesn't drop singles because ASTROWORLD didn't have singles either other than Butterfly Effect which was also a year or more before the drop but the hype was still there because of elite promo and the fire trailer, stargazing performances, etc..

He just needs to get the gears running so it doesn't totally flop

But it didn't end up on the album thus why I didn't mention it, maybe he can treat Escape plan/mafia as such and drop an actual song from the album soon before the album itself

Album would dropped a long time ago but Covid and Astrofest delayed it so much that I barely care about it now. Maybe if rollout actually starts within couple months I can get hyped again.

Although when this finally drops it’ll be unbelievable hype … It no longer feels like he is an artist any more?

Maybe that’s just me, but I feel like Kendrick fell victim to it with the significant wait with MM&TBS … Even when the album is really good, the length of time that has elapsed makes it feel inconsequential in the grand scheme of things

It feels like time has moved on from him, and even if Utopia is brilliant (which i’m sure it will be), he’ll be viewed as more of a legacy act rather than someone at the forefront of the current sound

Depends if he starts dropping at his pre astro pace again once it drops

Truth

Travis’ prolifity between Birds and JACKBOYS was ridiculous

There wasn’t an artist who he wasn’t working with

Now it feels like there’s an entire scene that he hasn’t even given a forethought towards outside of signing Faygo

This is why I'm against taking all that time on crafting an album
no matter how hard you try it takes practice to get that perfect masterpiece so why you scrapping and starting over like that? Drop something. If it isn't THE album drop a mixtape or an EP, just don't keep the fans starving like that...
