FlapheadMy point is that it absolutely should work that way and corners seem like they’re being cut in this case.
The best indicator that you’re right about how this SHOULD work and that plans were made, but weren’t followed as closely as they should’ve been is the evidence of classes in the code dating back to when the billboards (which also were obviously pointing to 7/21 in hindsight) were first going up. I work in digital marketing and they were clearly set up for versioning based on a go-ahead call on the day. It looks like they’ve been waiting for the Travis tweets or launching alongside internal approval for those tweets as they come.
I mean we’re on a Kanye fan site - in the current era, artists love to play fast and loose with timelines if they can for the mystique. It’s not a good way to work by any means, but it’s real as well as the long-term planning on the background around those creative calls.
So that’s what I’m getting at. Big decisions that involve a lot of moving parts like this and hella budget involvement would have to be pre-planned and already approved months in advance by those who are meant to know on an NDA basis. When the controversy presented itself and the Egyptian government now became involved in a decision that was already pre-planned and confirmed, that changes a lot of things.
There have been hella music events held at the pyramids. Everyone who was involved in planning did not account for this controversy to become a thing where the government would get involved. Even just a week ago, Live Nation was still standing on the event was going to happen.
An employee (Travis Scott) is not about to strong-arm the entity that pays him or leave them in limbo. This was pre planned as well as the rollout strategy and things just fell thru
With that said, I think it’s dope that you work in digital marketing and have knowledge of this in depth. Good for you dawg
