It’s just stupid cus as music lovers how do you not consider all the other things that go into all elements of music ? There’s a lot more to lyrics than just what they are on paper, it’s the pacing of the song, certain delivery & emphasis, what sounds best or what fits the song the most at that point in the song. It’s basic songwriting. I think he’s lowkey overlooked & not really taken seriously in that aspect, even on his most loved songs. How can you love songs like Astrothunder, 90210, Skyfall and then turn around and say he’s not talking about s*** on this album… like they’re the exact same kind of lyrics. He’s always emphasized atmosphere & feeling above all, I mean that’s the sort of artist he is

There was a lot of that. There was also a lot of people saying he was trying too hard, it was vapid/shallow and propped up on production, he’s living in Ye’s shadow, etc etc. And in typical fashion people hated the original Mike Dean mix of the CD leak lmfao

nah his first verse on meltdown was better than drake’s

i think k-pop and telekinesis were the only songs where he was really being outdone, and he didn’t even have a verse on the latter
