Can someone explain me this whole "giving songs away"? Like, is this a common thing in the industry? Because I looked on Genius for further context and there are like 6-7 songs that belong to Kanye but for some reason ended up in this album without him.

It is a common thing, but sometimes people write songs, end up scrapping them or selling them or giving them to someone else.
For example, some of Pharrell's songs for Justified were originally for Michael Jackson before they got to Justin Timberlake
"Don't come to the boy about repairing some s***" (Kanye)
And then starts talking about Melting pharrell's chains down
Push would never try to repair s*** with Drake so that's def kanye
Drake rly still doin this after we saw him cry to runaway

The s*** that happened in 2018 is not some s*** you just get over I think
Drake just happened to grow up listening to both of them
finally starting this. the production sounds great so far.
being honest and not trying to hate, but im really surprised how much hype this guy gets. the music isn't bad at all, but he's an average rapper at best. listening to modern jam now and the beat is really good, but his verses/delivery are so generic. sounds kind of amateurish imo.
otherwise, i like the music so far. loving all of the outros
The same person who gave this a 5.7 gave the sexyyy red tape an 8
Same guy also gave Cudi's MOTM 3 a 4.9
Travis verse on meltdown is so foul
He did great rapping on this album. It's his best lyrically IMO. This thing about how he raps about nothing is so annoying
Pharrell, Rocky, Kanye, Push, Gambino, Kodak and Gunna all got shots on that
Gambino?

The Kanye ones were songs Travis was working with him for Donda - TELEKINESIS is an older track from a scrapped album - and Kanye didn't use so Travis put on here but Travis was always featured on them.
Gambino?
He got it light but the You act like you love this America s***, but really the truth is you're scared of the 6
This has been playing at every It's All A Blur show

It’s a common practice amongst artists/producers that work together and has been for a while. Sometimes songs are made as demos/references with another artist in mind, like Tyler making songs for Rihanna that she never used so he just used them.
For example Ye & Travis were working on 3500 and it was meant for Life of Pablo but Ye scrapped it so Trav took it and used it on Rodeo, s*** like that
Travis letting Drake shoot at GOOD Music on his joint...again. Real one.
That's the most confusing thing bro. How can Travis say I'm Loyal i got Ye over Biden and then let Drake diss him on his album AGAIN lol
