It’s not even the over saturation that’s killing me. It’s his half pack of Mid lyrics. It’s as if he’s parodying himself. He use to have a good pen but now it’s just so f***ing bad I actually can’t listen to it. Actual garbage in my ear. Like if he wants to go full I’m so down, but if that’s the case then hire some writers so your work is bearable

Another listen in, this is a great album. Travis was definitely hugely inspired by Donda as this makes a lot of similar thematic/structural moves. He isn't nearly as deft an album arranger as Ye is so it makes a few more missteps than Donda did but there's a lot to enjoy here, and Trav's ability to put together a song as good as Delresto as the sole producer speaks volumes about his ability to make excellent and forward-thinking music.

Still waiting for his masterpiece and there are less steps forward here after Astroworld than I was hoping for, but it's clear the dude is a tremendous talent and with a little help honing his pen and more willingness to cut down on fluff he could have a rap album of the decade contender whenever he wants.
