I hate to bring Rocky in this but..... dude always raps about the same s*** designer clothes, money and b****es and he has never ever made a album with sounds this advanced

Rocky has an entire album where he raps concisely about religion poverty prison fame , for niggas to say s*** like this

The beat switch was so unnecessary on that song. Gunn sounded amazing over Blake’s instrumental.

And I liked it more when the beat breathed at the beginning for a little bit before Travis’s verse started

    Exactly

    Yayo

    beat fits westside more

The beat switch is fire but the first beat needed more time to breathe. He should've extended the intro out or something

    Hard ass cover

Travis is not good at "saying something" but I think there's a real expression of the bleak emptiness of the position Travis is in in his life here. For all the bragging about status and fame, there's a real sense of emptiness and misery running throughout this record just as loudly. It doesn't always work but when it does I think it's pretty chilling.

The undercurrent of darkness being constantly ignored by the people actually talking brings a lot of Twin Peaks vibes actually, weird as that is to say

Pitchfork reviews off emotions nowadays. I don’t expect them to give valuable reviews anymore. I know this site s***s on him but Fantano is more credible than they are

Most critics review the artist instead of the actual album and music nowadays

Don't wanna mention it, but has to do w cancel culture we know nowadays. Apparently you have to be a good person to make amazing music

So disappointing that he f***ed Lost Forever as badly as he did, song has no vibe anymore and is basically filler

y’all are dragging it. The song is short and sweet. That alch beat is crazy

Album feels very dark and empty at parts, gives me the same feeling as Donda did in 2021

This was very true with Donda. Every review had nothing to do with the songs and everything to do with Ye as a person lmao

  • The Frank cosplay songs are the highlights of the album tbh,

Wouldn't mind if Trav made his own Blond/Endless in the future

  • Jul 29, 2023

Lost Forever is excellent and while the OG song worked better with Westside's verse I think the overall song and its placement here are better served with the changes made. It's way more chaotic and unsettling now.

Donda has a pretty big undercurrent of hope too, that there would be a light piercing through the darkness that would save Ye from himself and the circumstances of his life.

I need more listens to this for sure but I didn't notice anything like that here on first spin. Just a crushing nothingness that Travis can only respond to by numbing himself until he can't anymore. That's his Utopia.

5 second Sampha feature flowing into a beat switch with Travis stroking the mic with 2 minutes of spitfire bars

this is way worse than getting you face pulverized by rikishi’s cheeks
