only thing I'm mad is that kanye is not on this album
but you can feel him all over this album so at least that
In the context of the album, K Pop is a better song then I thought it was when it dropped as a single
i agree, but i think when people say unoriginal they arent saying it as like it being a copy of kanyes sound, since its known travis worked on yeezus (you cant copy yourself). theres nothing wrong with travis exploring further, but utopia doesnt really do anything to substantively expand on the sound from a decade ago. like if i wanted to listen to donda/gods country leftovers, i would just listen to yeezus.
But that's where I disagree, people are acting as if the whole album is Ye leftovers when it's literally 3-4 tracks at the most
I don't think this sounds like any other Travis album either

This is fair, there are songs on here that sound very very new though. But people tend to focus on negatives lol
I wanna start by saying I’m glad he didn’t compromise as much as I thought he would with this s***. After astrofest I was sure he was gonna feel forced to give us astroworld 2, another polished and marketable album. But he said f*** that and still went the muddy route, which is a huge relief and I appreciate that about it
But the actual album itself? Easily his least focused work, like prolly even less focused than Owl Pharaoh, but it’s also his weirdest to me. There are moments I love and moments that piss me off cause I hate it, but all in all I really like it so far and excited to sit with it
I don’t like a good chunk of the ending quarter of the album too, which is something I never had happen to me with a Travis album
i kinda chalk the lack of focus thing to how many versions this album went through
from the 2020 donda days, stuff made during the time he was gonna so his dior capsule, post-astrofest, etc…
i agree with you though cause even if this is still good, even an album like birds felt more thematic in how all the songs came together than this
Gotta listen again but a lot of interesting sounds and things going on with this album but Travis seems like the least interesting thing on this album

Closest album to me is rodeo. It's like rodeo on dark mode or it's evil twin

Least focused? How?
Bro I gotta chill on this album it’s literally all I been playing since midnight
I’ve played Modern Jam like 70 times probably
And modern jam it's literally the OG I am a god beat
I guess. But being the og means it wasn't a Yeezus beat. It went on a different direction This song made me think more about Pump Up the Jam then anything else. And i love it.
Least focused? How?
I honestly think it's his most focused with birds (actually have a soft spot for birds) being his least focused

In some aspects true, you can definitely hear that
Gotta listen again but a lot of interesting sounds and things going on with this album but Travis seems like the least interesting thing on this album
The reason there's interesting sounds is because it's travis
but no
B****es get cold in the summer, keep a mink
I actually like modern jam
Who's saying they don't like that song? Show me them right now, they deserve to slapped

People are saying what they’re saying cuz he’s literally using Kanye demos from 10 years ago lol
Like I wouldn’t go as far as to say he’s ripping Ye off but one of the best songs on here is an I Am A God Demo.
I f***s with the album tho but it is kinda funny I can’t lie, I chalk it up to how ahead of it’s time it was
I guess. But being the og means it wasn't a Yeezus beat. It went on a different direction This song made me think more about Pump Up the Jam then anything else. And i love it.
Ye but it was still originally intended to be on yeezus and was produced by all the same people. It definitely has a yeezus vibe
I’ve played Modern Jam like 70 times probably
