This is him just going back to his roots musically, which was heavily inspired by Yeezus-era Kanye. That and he literally has a Yeezus era beat on here from when he worked on that album lol

This album sounds good and unique compared to everything that’s coming out in hip hop at the moment. I like how Travis is very prominent all over this album compared to astroworld some songs felt like he was the feature on his own song. My only thing is more than half of these songs are about nothing and don’t make me feel anything. By the time you’re on to the next track the last song is forgotten. Him and Rocky have this problem where they have an ear sonically but write about the same things in their songs. I’m not saying I want Kendrick Lamar type of lyrics, but he could get a little emotional and introspective. My favorite songs were modern jam, my eyes, circus Maximus, parasil, skitzo, lost forever, looove, and James Blake part on until further notice. I wish Travis Scott would have sing James Blake part because it feels like it’s about him.
