This week we shall discuss Lupe Fiasco who is a very overrated rapper. Last week we did Vince and the week before we had a great discussion about Freddie Gibbs.

Lupe Fiasco is overrated for the following reasons:

1. He tries too hard to be deep in his music and it comes off as pretentious. Additionally, most, if not all of his music doesn't actually end up presenting a deep message. Just the same underlining conscious themes most conscious rappers utilize.

2. Lupe is terrible at picking beats and structuring good songs. He's a good rapper in the sense of words utilized and his cadence but when it comes to crafting songs, he isn't that good. His beat selection is mediocre at best. FnL 2 and Lasers are two of the worst produced albums by a hyped up rapper in the past 15 years.

3. Lupe was unable to make solid commercial records after 2007. You could tell Lupe tried to approach rap the way B.O.B. did after seeing his success during that era and ultimately failed. Not to mention a lot of the records Lupe did were way too poppy and less focused rap tunes.

4. Lupe at his best was never top 5 in the game. The closest album to being a classic is F&L 1.

5. His music is very hit or miss. Lupe was good at crafting solid songs for about two years but flash forward to 2015 with Tetsuo and Youth, he becomes a terrible musician and actually admits he isn't interested in music only lyrics. This isn't a good sign for a rapper at all. I don't know why his fans defend him for this. T&Y isn't a good album at all. The music is awful and he tries too hard.

Mural is a prime example of Lupe rapping for the sake of rapping. Such an easy concept Lupe takes to extreme and doesn't present anything groundbreaking.

Yall make excuses for anyone yall like. Lupe approved Lasers and said it was a good album then when it flopped musically he was like "oh the label said so!" Lmao pop wasn't even Lupe's lane stop it.

Nah, the label had both B.o.B and Lupe make the same music, sometimes even renditions of the same songs.
