Yeah, that’s fair you got that. cameras didn’t completely replace painting, but they did change what painting was for.
Before photography, painters were hired to capture realistic portraits, and moments.
and so if in the future ai is used in place of all types of art, nobody will be hired for anything
Well then they'd be massively discounting the work I put into my poem
As they should
F***ing garbage, I genuinely hate niggas like you
@op AI is a tool. nothing less, nothing more. a creative will use all available tools to achieve the most satisfying results. it's all about the how that makes the difference between lazy and inspired.
the only ethical concern imo is whether you use a sustainable AI which doesn't drain drinking water from communities etc.
otherwise, it's usually smart not to listen to the pitchfork and lanterns crowd
swear to f***ing god this is literally just autotune sucks all over again. I know it's more nuanced but omg.
I'm kind of over how absolutely simplistic and braindead this "discussion" is (it's more of a witch hunt)
and so if in the future ai is used in place of all types of art, nobody will be hired for anything
Yeah, that’s the big concern !! and it’s real. Every major creative shift has come with that same fear.
When cameras appeared, people said , no one will paint again.
When digital music came out, they said , real musicians are done. But that where I stop there. I’m not saying I know how it’ll play out this time , I just know we’ve been here before
here's an album which features only AI vocals. it's one of the most creative projects of the decade, and it took hundreds of hours to get the vocals to have this very specific uncanny quality. (I interviewed the artist about how it was made)

we have not been here before man that's od normalcy bias. ai being leveraged to control what ppl see in damn near every single app and website and it's using mountains of personal data to shape them how the owners of the sites and apps want. want certain ppl pacified? you got it. want others absolutely enraged about a certain thing or certain people? job done. this is so beyond just the next step of creating art. the mfs in charge of this s*** would open Pandora's box if they thought there was a single dollar in it.

what’s happening with data, algorithms, and control is way bigger than just art.
The same people you’re talking about already run the tech, the ads, and the media
But regardless , AI is already here . I’m not blindly trusting it, I’m trying to understand it before it gets used on me instead of by me. don’t you agree ?
jesus christ i’m so tired of the “it’s the new google” talkijg point
only ever see dipshits , boring folks, or noncreatives say this s***

i will never again use it, so on that point i do not agree. and understanding it requires absolutely zero amount of advocating, defending, or justifying it so again i disagree. i will educate myself on how it being used to try and influence me and others, so i agree on that point

get this bullshit out of here
We've gone thousands upon thousands of years creating great art and technology just from bouncing ideas off of other humans and collaboration.
AI comes around and all we get is slop and s***tier versions of things that already exist.

Don't care. Not reading. Not listening. F*** that AI artist.
There's also the thing with AI where it's literally contributing to the destruction of the planet, and the exploitation of resources in predominantly Black towns/cities in the south.
All that, just to create some bullshit nobody even gonna remember years from now...ah yeah man. AI is just so important/crucial to the creative process.
F*** y'all.
Just say you don’t wanna think for yourself bro
He's waiting for AI to tell him he can think for himself
He's waiting for AI to tell him he can think for himself
you just rephrased what Shin Chan said in different words
