Does the show get dramatically better or something?
Because although I want to see a season 2 it's looking real half assed right now.
The cinematography in this s*** is garbage. The most basic camera angles you can possibly imagine, no creativity or thought at all put into the direction of the show or the dialogue.
The one thing I think the show nailed is the casting. But goddamn they gotta be given more to work with.
I havent gotten very far in the show yet but I'd be surprised if it went from looking a little cheap to some masterpiece quality.
I think they have a huge shot of hitting it out of the park in season 2. But there needs to be a big change in writers cinematographers, and frankly, even the audio engineers f***ed up. The song in episode 2 starting off loud af for no reason then quieting down for dialogue then going full blast again was jarring for no payoff or plot reasons. You're supposed to ease into that s*** lmao.
I know it seems like I hate this show, (I dont) but comparing it to peak Game of Thrones is just f***ing laughable. I dont think we actually are watching the same shows.
Peak GOT production value unparalleled TV. Even the much derided season 8 has good visuals when it wants to
I wanna give this one more chance. Maybe one more season, see where it goes. Don't normally do this, quit Billions halfway s1

i quit billions twice lol.
first one mid-pilot when it premiered
then recently 3 episodes in
Three episodes in and it’s not too bad. Visuals are good, Cavill is surprisingly strong.
The dialogue is a little bit cheesy, but the biggest flaw is the pacing/direction of the show. The decision to split the show doesn’t work smoothly — the GoT approach works because there’s so many characters in GoT. As a result there’s been too much Yen/Ciri exposition and not enough on the amazing source material of the actual short stories with Geralt.
If they had a stronger director focus, writers, and producers, this could’ve been something real strong. As it is, it feels very run-of-the-mill Netflix produced 7/10 show.
EDIT: I basically resonate with @Bo_Ceephus’s post above.
Episode 2 kinda trash, mainly Yennefer's storyline.

Hit the nail on its head. It really is an ugly looking show that neither feels authentic or credible to its source/setting
Was one of the most hyped going in, it rarely lived up to it. It didn't need to have the best writing, Vikings for example is fairly average chunks of it but its worldbuilding, actors and spectacle more than makes up for it. Mind you, it did it with less a budget than this series. With Witcher there's not much to write home about, so far. Hopefully they won't settle for the fanlove it's receiving right now and starts to coast with it. It would be a disappointment considering how rich its source is, Netflix better do some the potential's there
just watched the first two episodes...do yourselves a favor and watch the dragon prince instead
Saving my first watch for Christmas day.
Going into this as someone who's only played Witcher 3 and some of Witcher 2
I’m on my second rewatch and man I love the show, I have no complains so far. I’m ready for season 2
Just finished episode 1 and this seems like a high class Syfy show so far, but I'm into it.
I have 2 episodes left. I like the show. It’s good. Not groundbreaking. Not great. Good. I think it can only get better too with a season 2. That song I posted in here the other day been stuck in my head ALLLLL DAY
I LOVE Cavill as Geralt tho. I really like the dude playing Dandelion too. This feels like I’m playing the game. Only episode I was eh on was Episode 6.
Lmao Geralt actor a grown man and Yen look like a child in comparison
