Ok that was kinda stupid lol. Why did Rick's dad keep acting like he wasn't his dad and even doubles down on killing his dad? Just so he could accidentally kill him and get the reveal? Man that was dumb
Michael Bay ass ending. I’m actually surprised yall jacking this s***. Such a shame cus I was loving this season up until now.
this being a soap opera with HBO branding

See my thing with that, I hated the whole “ouuu we are all secretly scheming to kill Tanya” but they made up for it by giving us the funniest death ever.
Here idk who gave Mike the approval

the over theorizing of this show on tik tok and social media not helping so next season will probably be this, but amplified. i don’t remember people theorizing this much about s2

honestly i wouldn’t be mad if he does a more grounded s4 where no one dies and it’s just concerning whatever theme he chooses for the season/ is more of a character study
Damn one of my favorite shows turned into a soap smhhhh
this was not a soap lol, its mostly just bad writing, but its still enjoyable for what it is, a lot of storylines went untold at the end imo.
calling it bad writing is a bit extra but the conclusion was definitely mid
No, bad writing is correct. When you have to rely on 5 different conveniences just to get a specific ending it’s bad writing.
S1’s ending didn’t have that

yeah, actually it was just bad writing in hindsight lol
Yeah, I do agree there was too many contrivances
Surprisingly, in the end, I think the most successful thread was the catty white women. I like how they're ultimately inconsequential to the main action, but it's showing how they still exist within this tragedy. Their turn of heart was a bit sudden, but also believable, and I like the warmth that subversion brought. Really feels like the character writing Mike is good at. I'm less a fan of Rick tbh. Also, when you have the Ratcliff family being yet again its own thing, that's where I sort of wish there was more intersection, like the first season.
This felt like 15 ideas Mike White was noodling with thrown into a pulpier mix than usual. So, it's entertaining, but not entirely fleshed out.
I'd give season 3 a B.

Yeah having Ricks dad magically stop right by Rick to take a picture is one thing…but having his 2 body guards randomly walk off leaving it open for Rick to attack and kill him? Come the f*** on bro

Yeah he handled the 3 friends the best, no issues with that at all.
Tim’s “I wanna kill my family” was interesting when it existed as a fantasy but the actual execution was terrible.
The fact a KTT user predicted word for word how it would play out says a lot

Or Rick's dad doubling down on being his dad's killer for no other reason but to setup the shooting plot lol

And also “hey look at my gun I got on me even tho I’m not gonna use it when you approach me later”
Or that the Indian lady couldn’t give Rick 5 minutes even tho earlier she was begging to see him again. Zion wouldn’t have cared.
you could tell it wasn’t organic
