I found them not interesting at first (like the first one or two episodes) but I think that was by design
One of the actresses was on the official podcast saying that Mike White wanted them to appear as “one big white blonde blob” or something like that. But it’s been interesting to see how they’ve been diverging and almost like having their individual personalities cause them to retract from each other over the last few weeks

Rewatched S1 and I love how everything connected to Armonds death.
Obviously the main catalyst was him and Shane’s beef
But giving Shane access to the pineapple room is what gave Shane access to the knife
The girl convincing Kai to rob the family is what made Shane paranoid and thinking he needed a knife to protect himself from “robbers”
Armonds d*** addiction made him go on a coke binge which prompted him to go take a s*** in Shane’s room (due to Shane getting him fired)
Belinda offering Rachel her number and getting her a separate room due to her fighting with Shane is the reason Rachel wasn’t in the pineapple room and Armond was able to sneak in
These are all separate events but if you remove just 1 variable then Armond wouldn’t have gotten killed. Yeah him and Shane beefing was the main thing, but Shane didn’t wanna kill Armond. All the other events coming together is what caused the accidental murder.
Exactly why season 1 was a masterclass and will be hard to ever top
