I'm not sure i would consider it an interpolation...
If anything then it's just that Hurt You uses the drums from the demo of IFIC

    All around production wise?

Too Late - the production is clean, not too much ‘gloss’ on it, the low end at the back end of the track paired with the drums and how it plays together is superb.

After Hours - a beautiful soundscape, then the beat evolves too, it’s a lot and much at once without being too overpowering, it plays well with his vocals and vice versa.

Every Angel is Terrifying - a wonderful mesh of OPN and Abel coming together to create a beautiful world. Yes half of it is an ‘infomercial’ but it is some of the best production of Dawn FM. It goes from very spectrum filling and euphoric sounding that makes your speakers feel like they could float away, then puts you in front of the TV as a kid in the night. The glow of the ad blasting off the walls and the lights surround you, that’s exactly what this song sounds like. The layers to this song though, the little hospital track, the choir, the synths, everything…

Faith - a literal movie, the transitions, how the whole song flows and the speakers stay warm and full without the spectrum being overbearing. The lyrics tell a story and serve a great purpose, great song.

Professional - beautiful full production, cinematic, what a way to start a debut, just needs a mixing update.

Privilege - while more of a softer song of Abel’s it manages imo to encapsulate what he does best: somber, sorrowful heartbroken, lonely playboy. Yes we all know it’s a character, it’s so genuine and so Abel and also so ‘The Weeknd’ here and I love it. The vinyl crackling, the weariness it provides in context to the song and the lyrics. The production on it isn’t overstated, it doesn’t overstay its welcome and is perfectly pairing with Abel.

Belong to The World - Sounds like it came straight out of a movie, although it could use a mixing update, it lacks a bit of depth and low end. Besides that, the drums fit perfectly and sit and make you feel like you’re in a city not far different from Los Angeles 2019 in the Blade Runner universe. What a song, what an album, all hail Kiss Land.

Nice, nice. Thank you for taking the time out of your day for my question!

You also gave me some nice info that I hadn't considered, so certain tracks I'll see (listen) from another point of view.

You are fluent in technical stuff and I envy you for it. Music to me means also "vibes"
    I'll drop my 2 cents.

    Some tracks I like

    • Initiation
I just love what was done production wise.
(PS. for the mixtapes I always talk about the OG 2011 files, not the 2012 trilogy remasters)
I love the ups and downs of the vocal effects, or the rawness of the track, right very first second. That drop is filthy! And the drums kick ass!

    • What You Need
Zodiac is a wizard (kudos Jeremy Rose wherever you are)

    • The Morning
Doc + Illangelo are wizards, the thick vibe that song has, right from the opening sounds, as a welcome to a cloudy realm (like the s*** Saint Peter would hear at the pearly gates, in his smoke break every two hours, where he gets to play the music he wants lmao)

    • The Party & the After Party
the combiantion of the three wizards. The only time the planets aligned, and that intrumental, my God 7m39s, with no skippable moments.

    • Coming Down
Beautiful like Initiation, dark production that bites you like a rabid dog that lives outside in a cold place. Sharp and cold bite. (Pooooooppiiiiiin' againnnnn..... I tried to quit agaiiinnnn...)

    • Lonely Star
even the last minute is f***ing gold, the outro, which was my favourite moment on my first ever ever listen, and I remember being like (holy s***), and the next day, I wasn't familiar with the songs, and I didn't want to replay a 50min album to find that bit, so I thought (what was that nice song with the days of the week? must be the title track.... 5mins later... this isn't what I was searching for wtf) (PS. nothing wrong in playing the album again, it's just when a song strikes you at first album listen, sometimes you want to replay that track a little bit more)

    • The Zone (feat Drake)
The drums kick like a mule. They say the 2012 trilogy is more polished, when I reach the Drake part I always play it twice. His flow, the mixing, the instrumental, my God, to quote that chick from Jai Paul's 2013 leak "I like it raw!"

    • Gone
The second half doesn't need introduction. So moody, so brilliant, so masterfully executed from Abel at the mic, and everybody else involved

Unfortunately I have to stop here, it already became a wall of text, and I haven't even touched the rest of his catalogue 😜😁
