No judgement, just curious

When I hear that line, it momentarily breaks the nostalgic narrative of the song. If he said “just the kid from the burrough” I’d be fine with it. But when he says “still the kid”, it’s jarring cuz the man has been riding around in a blacked out SUV and surrounded by an entourage since HOB dropped 14 years ago.

That and it sounds like a Roy Woods bar.
