I had low expectations based on the singles but he really saved all the best stuff for the album. Sao Paulo hits way better in context of the album too

Totally. Timeless is a skip for me tho after finding out about the ai s*** lmao

Niagara Falls really is a 10/10 and he added that outro to elevate it so much more

damn what was the guardian beef with the album

A close up of Tesfaye’s face, sweaty and grimacing, it’s both striking and mysterious: he could be on stage, in agony or in the throes of passion. Equally, he could just be suffering the after-effects of last night’s chicken phall.
Or he could have been reading Hurry Up Tomorrow’s lyrics, which are enough to bring anyone out in a sweaty grimace. There are moments when they slip into standard Weeknd mode, alternately predatory and injured – “She’s addicted to the rush … she trust me with her life” etc – but they are primarily concerned with telling you how awful it is being rich and famous

Dawn was dark and touched on the topics of loneliness and death, but was oddly "happy"

This is just so aggressively EAGER for death

People who can’t empathize with people who have different struggles than them are low empathy and low intelligence, tbh.
Even if the writer of that review wishes they were rich and famous, and Able is, that doesn’t suddenly magically make his pain less real or valid
