Yes it does get over the top sometimes....but he's been ready to kill off The Weeknd for many years (music videos speak for themselves). He just had more to achieve and more maturing to do (both musically and personally) to reach this point he's seen in the distance for quite some time. Not to mention the stability he now has in his relationship. Regardless of what happens in the heaven/hell storyline of HUT...he's ready for the peace he's been searching for after all the pain, heartbreak, and anxiety that comes with being an artist of his magnitude.
It has literally been stated several times... After Cannes, a lot of projects were started.... Stop acting like his career hasn't been mapped out and like he isn't an artist with a vision. It's getting tiring
can say the same to you. stop acting like he is some once in a two centuries artiste. xo team be making s*** on the fly religiously

How can you tell him that when you get mad if a music video doesnât have a story lmao

??? that would literally make my point

Agility from the team on the day to day and long-term vision can go hand in hand. Not saying the results are always flawless but almost every interview of other artists speaking about Abel compliment his attention to detail and vision as an artist.
??? that would literally make my point
?
You expecting every video to have a story and every piece of rollout to be connected means you treat Weeknd as the same âartistic geniusâ that Abyssus does

no, i uphold him to a standard he set himself with former 2 releases, which mind you are part of this trilogy.
y'all on the other hand are trying to argue he came up with ah, dawn and hut in 2018
dude literally came up with dawn as a response to covid like brotha what are we doing rn

Expecting every single video, piece of promo, and social media post to be connected is definitely the opposite of thinking âXO team does s*** on the flyâ lmao
And nah, obviously not each album in depth, but the general idea of the trilogy was definitely conceived during the making of After Hours
Man I'm going to miss the maruchin v fader fights ITT when this era is over
i really don't see how this is a fight, our only fight was the ASCAP s*** back in summer. fader is my boy

I hope more OGs pop up this week. Even though disagreements are per the course here and the banter makes the thread what it is, I hope everyone shows each other some grace over the next few days. For older posters, this man's music has been the soundtrack of life for over a decade. There's real emotion and relationships behind/off the screen that come with that. Let's enjoy the moment and long goodbye because everything changes after this.
That teaser from today was dissapointing by the way I expected more
did you enjoy that snippet at all tho?
did you enjoy that snippet at all tho?
I did but itâs not clear enough to make something of it and give a good opinion.
If Starboy was just:
1. Starboy
2. Party Monster
3. False Alarm
4. Reminder
5. Rockinâ
6. Secrets
7. Stargirl Interlude
8. A Lonely Night
9. All I Know
10. Die For You
11. I Feel It Coming
Then thatâs genuinely an amazing album
No true colors here is crazy, plus going with the reviled track "Rockin'"
