There was already some tensions likely due to him not signing to OVO, that’s been long rumored and lowkey confirmed by Abel on All To Myself.

Also it’s just something I read on Reddit so credibility is questionable but apparently 2015-2016 there was some label machinations with Cash trying to lure ovo artists to XO. Could explain why Drake went at Cash too

It just doesn’t make sense tho. Drake did an interview in 2019 where he said he had no ill feelings towards Abel for not signing to OVO and said “OVOXO will always be a thing and will STILL be a thing by the way”. And then like a year or two later he was at Abel’s birthday partying in Vegas with him and the whole XO crew. Then fast forward to this year and it seems like they just hate each other again. It’s so bizarre.
