I feel like this album is gonna be super dark sonically like a step away from the more 80s influence idk why

Need dark ass synth tracks
Why he donât work with Doc McKinney no more?
Think heâs been fine without him. Would be great for guitar work though

Hopefully no fts, dont need mfers ruining another classic
Hope this one is more After Hours than Dawn FM.
Dawn isnât bad, but AH is much more exciting to me and had much more replay-ability. I feel like they got too drawn into the concept of Dawn, and it hurt the songs themselves, at the very least, to my tastes.
Like, I prefer the more straightforward type of songs from AH, where the quality comes from the dynamite songwriting and catchiness, than the more experimental stuff from Dawn where the fun comes from playing with the structure. (I know itâs not âexperimental experimentalâ in the sense that it has never been done before, but itâs experimental to Able)
Again, both are good, but I much prefer After Hours

Iâm a Tyler stan, but T was the worst part of Here We Go⌠Again.
Did not match the vibe of the song at all, and as much as I love both Able and Tyler, I never thought I need to hear them mixed.

I wouldnât mind Abel on a Tyler hook but Iâd be good without ever hearing another Tyler verse on a The Weeknd album.
Another quote I found from a 2015 article, regarding his view on sad music.
Abel you b****
Your music has old-school references like Motown and Michael Jackson, but with a yearning, sadness, and darker edge. Is this organic or a conscious move?
I do it subconsciously, mostly because I grew up with this music in my household. Michael Jacksonâs âDonât Stop âtil You Get Enough,â from Off the Wall, is actually the song that helped me find my voice. Itâs the reason I sing. The sadness I inherit is from the Ethiopian music my mother would play. A lot of sad songs about heartbreak. Even though I couldnât really make out what they were saying, I could feel it.

Honestly thatâs pretty cool. Itâs so interesting to see what music contributes to someoneâs artistic DNA, if you will, and makes them who they are

Yeah, I was thinking if it worked at all it would be Abelâs heavenly voice complimenting Tylerâs beats.
But Tylerâs sheer force of self confidence and coziness just feels out of place on a Weeknd doubtful and uneasy drifting track. Idk.

agreed, Abel is a very unique artist in the sense that heâs able to fit in a lot of artists spaces pretty effortlessly, but itâs a lot harder the other way around
I wonder if some of the scrapped concepts of the OG Dawn("..wallowing in the depression he was feeling at the time..") will make the cut here if the "character" ends up in Hell.
Also I wonder if splitting the album into two parts(Heaven and Hell) will work, make it your own adventure type of deal.
A lot of interesting concepts can be covered here
Thatâs cool. Dawn really is a fully realized and complete concept album, and I love it for that. Like, I love how it has an entire interlude dedicated to replicating a âcommercialâ for the radio station, and the concept is just so cool, with purgatory being trapped listening to a synth pop radio station until you fully relent and are ready for the next life. Itâs so weird, but makes so much sense in hindsight.
Both albums in this trilogy are great so far, we just need Able to finish the 3peat
@dest31 @SonicNirvana @RCLamp @aneepal55 @maruchinn @bluemagic looks like weâre moving here
