aside from people that actually don't like the music or the videos(which is totally fine), there is a large number of this fanbase that has a specific vision of what the music should sound like and look like, and they get pissy when it isn't like that.

This has been pretty much a theme all his career, and he keeps on throwing curveballs every single time.
I'm glad he even said this himself in that Billboard interview before the Sao Paulo show.

"There is always pressure to surpass my last project,” he says about the new era, presented for the first time at the show in São Paulo. “Growth is important. Sometimes it may not be what people want to hear from me at the moment, but, when the body of work is complete, I hope they can appreciate what I have been trying to achieve.
