Do yaâll think Abel actually intended for this to be a trilogy before Dawn FM dropped?

I sometimes wonder that.
He said he planned it out, so I believe him, but sometimes things do seem a little like heâs filling it out as he goes; which makes sense to an extent. I remember the creator of Breaking Bad said that a big job they had was âfeelingâ what worked and embracing what they found.
I would love to interview Able and ask him how the idea formed and pick his brain about the influences and ideologies that shaped his Divine Trilogy.
Somewhat unrelated, but if we look at his discography as one long body of work, I think After Hours makes more sense as a retelling of the story so far and the start of a trilogy than the next logical installment.
Because on Starboy, he is already embracing his faith and exploring ways to become better, like on Die For You, where he discusses wanting to do what he needs to for a girl.
MDM is a temporary regression, but that makes sense in the context of the breakup, and I always saw that EP as more of a spur of the moment thing that was not planned, but After Hours makes no sense for the continual growth of The Weeknd after Starboy. Heâs losing his faith? But he just restored it!
I think that makes me think the trilogy was always planned
That video of Abel mumbling the lyrics to Starboy got me DEADDDDD. Mf was sounding like SpongeBob LMAO
hi yall
Hey
sup king how are you
Iâm alright
Voice has been gone the past couple days and I just feel groggy :(
Do yaâll think Abel actually intended for this to be a trilogy before Dawn FM dropped?
Yes. He specifically said some chapters are longer than others before After Hours released. And he started teasing the sequel not long after After Hours released. I think this was in the works for a very long time
Thereâs literally nothing dumb about it. Literally all it does is track how many unique listeners you had in a one month period. I really donât understand why some of yâall despise it so much
Do yaâll think Abel actually intended for this to be a trilogy before Dawn FM dropped?
Yeah, somewhere after AH ended/before the creation of Dawn FM
Iâm alright

too much singing bro?
too much singing bro?
Lmao nah the opposite
Iâm a marching band director now so Iâm telling all night most nights now
This man dropped Heartless and Blinding Lights within 48 hours of each other and yâall in here saying that Timeless and Dancing in the Flames sound like two separate albums
Those were pretty coherent especially aesthetically what do you mean lol
Just because thereâs a different vocal style between songs doesnât make them inconsistent

Are we calling it the "Divine Trilogy" now? I think that's a good one đ

The songs are two polar opposite genres who said anything about the vocal style

Lol, I just heard someone else call it that a couple times, and I thought that was a good name.
But yeah, if itâs good, I feel like why not use it, at least until a different title for all 3 comes out

Who knows but we know Dawn FM wasnât really a thing until 2021 and he made a different album before it so even if trilogy was planned, how exactly would each album be was thought of later

Wild to think he whipped up his most critically acclaimed album in such a short time
