dude your depth of reference-able material is endless

    Out here challenging AI

Jokes aside, as I have stated before then my Trilogy is very similar to his. Eventually when I start up a creative process then I have words I create from like building blocks...
You start out simple, let's take:

    Abyss:

    The Abyss (Movies)
    Nietzsche (Philosophy)
    Made in Abyss (Anime)
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom (Gaming)

Those 4 things gives me access to 4 different mediums of art... Then I can can go further, what connects them ? They all deal with "depth" and "monsters". Now I have a little spiderweb of new words.

Eventually I add visual similarities to those connections and dwell deeper. Who have made something similar ? What's the source of the inspiration?

... And that's how you build complex universes

I love Pop Weeknd so much and i’m not one of those “I miss the old Weeknd” mfs but man I was re listening to Kiss Land and I would love to hear him on this type of vibe just one more time before he retires

same here, was listening to it while driving after work, and was just thinking “this is such a good album, the sample selection is perfect. we need this one more time”

I think we’re getting back to that to some degree with songwriting and world building.

i really wanna know what is that "sound" you so want him to go back too lol. cause he never stopped doing "weeknd" songs. (sprawling, multifaceted tracks, sometimes with a beat switch, that blend f***ton of influences into one)

    Professional
    Starry Eyes
    Alone Again
Let's End it All (Hold Your Heart)

those are all songs checking the same box for me. they may differ in some sonic aspects but they are basically from the same cloth. nobody else is making music like this

An entire album with slow and build up dreamy, cinematic production, R&B characteristics and non traditional songwriting.

Sure he’s had songs here and there over the years that incorporate that style but let’s be honest, he makes primarily upbeat pop music nowadays(which is fine, like I said I love it).

I want to see what he could do if he revisited these elements for a full project instead of just a track here and there.

You’re telling me you wouldn’t want this?

The snippets are shaping up to be among some of the best sonics i’ve personally heard from him so I have really high hopes for this album, i’m extremely excited.

After Hours and Dawn are two of my favorite albums of this mans entire discography and I know he has it in him to top even those, Kiss Land is just such a special one to me

I feel the same way, it’s shaping up to look very promising and possibly his best album ever.

It does, he tapped back in and I can’t wait to see what the cinematic journey is he takes us on lyrically for this album. Sonically too, I’m not disappointed at all.

Yeah it's funny how people think it's a Matrix reference... It doesn't make sense in the context, if it was in the Matrix universe why would he take a red pill if he is trying to escape reality ?
