Abel is essentially retelling the story of the Divine Comedy with After Hours, Dawn FM, and this upcoming album.

After Hours represents the Hell portion:

"You can find love, fear, friends, enemies, violence, dancing, sex, demons, angels, loneliness, and togetherness all in the After Hours of the night.”

The album and the videos go through the events of a night (just like the movie) where he’s beaten up, d***ged, killed, etc over the course of a bunch of music videos. If you’re interested in the music videos (they really tell an awesome story on their own) I can send you the order you should watch them in, since there are other non-MVs included.

Dawn FM represents the Purgatory state. The whole album is supposed to be like a radio station that plays while someone is transitioning from their death to their afterlife. Jim Carrey narrates the album as the radio show where The Weeknd characters soul is trapped in an endless loop (the album loops around perfectly). There are also a few MVs to watch as well as a live performance if you’re interested.

Abel could easily fit into Trent's universe as they are influenced by the same artists. Trent just refuses to dig deeper than surface level... Who knows, he is tied to Interscope and Apple so maybe he heard Memento Mori and realized he messed up
