the music still holds up. Black Album is still seen as one of Jay's best records even though he didn't end up retiring after releasing it as promised
That said, I get it. The end of the Weeknd is essentially the whole theme of the album. While HUT still maintains that level of finality, it's gone from "HUT is my last album" to "HUT is the last album in this cycle/part of my life that I want to move on from". It doesn't quite hit the same.
And I can see how It kinda makes that last sequence on HUT (The Abyss ➡️ Red Terror ➡️ Without A Warning ➡️ Hurry Up Tomorrow with its High For This callback) seem less impactful
