New single is really good. Idk how I feel on him going for retro 80s funk pop again though idk. as much as the music is great I would’ve thought Abel would move onto a different theme by now. we have been getting 80s style r&b pop since like 2016 :/

The thematics and sound signature is heavily inspired by the same things that inspired his previous records (Starboy & Afterhours) . Call it what you want it’s still stagnant.

Not saying the music is bad, but Abel explored way more sounds from HoB to BBTM. From Starboy to now the only record that had a different mood/sound influence is MDM.

AH had many sounds. Not sure why people keep saying AH had the same 80s synth sound. AH was more than BL.

I can even name two songs off of the top of my head that are genre bending
