Honestly I’ve gotten the hunch that the remix was the “original” but during a studio sesh Max heard it and was like “I can do something better with that guitar lick” and made it poppier. And with a concise project like this I’m sure the label wanted a sure fire-sounding single that could pop months after release and the “remix”, or the original in this case was just a little too out there compared to Max’s version. But Abel still wanted SHM to get their shine for what they originally produced so that’s why he released the remix + video within a week of Dawn FM’s release as a nod to them.
Just my personal theory, I’m obviously biased but I just feel like this is pretty much what happened lol maybe not in the exact steps but still

I don’t hear Often in this for some reason
Wonder if he's going to do renditions of SHM tracks while performing

I can’t even imagine what Abels vocals on that song would be like my god……….
They had a little private Weeknd karaoke party in LA yesterday.

My favorite song keeps changing.
I’m now discovering the joy of “Don’t break my heart” which at first didn’t really leave a big impression on me besides the low pitched vocals.
