I used to listen to mostly rap for more than a decade. Now I listen to more pop stuff since I don't like new rappers.

When it comes to rap: Em, Jay, Nas, Kanye, Wayne and Drake (except CLB) and I'm also curious about the new Game album. And I did like Pop's posthumous album, Von, XXX and Juice.

When it comes to pop: MJ always, The Weeknd, Lana, Bruno, Ariana (love her voice) and Dua lately.

I prefer listening to albums front to back but it's becoming pretty hard lately so I end up listening to the few songs so like from each. I did like After Hours btw.

Consider starting with Kendrick Lamar's discography. Or Frank Ocean / Lorde (kinda similar to love songs Weeknd used to make that were mainly not pop)

Kendrick has some kickass albums which I consider as good as Shady's best projects, or even better: I love "Good Kid, M.A.A.D City" and "To Pimp a Butterfly".... "Damn" too, a bit lighter than the other two, but I enjoy it a lot!

If you like good music, and since you like listening albums front to back, I'd suggest you some albums I love

• The Doors - self titled (Psychedelic rock / hard rock, sung so good, and lyrical content similar to the music Weeknd used to make. Gorgeous songwriting, and Jim Morrison on the mic + the band playing instruments, with so much energy and emotion)
  (PS. in similar vein, I'll add here [Nirvana - Nevermind], albeit with a bit more "heavier" sound, cause grunge fuses elements of punk rock and heavy metal)

• Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon (a brilliant album front to back, I consider this the staple concept album -- albums that have the songs connected)

• Bob Marley & The Wailers - Catch a Fire (I think this was their first album to make it big. After hearing this I saw that Bob is a gifted songwriter and singer. A beautiful, beautiful record. He makes sad songs like "Concrete Jungle" or "Stop That Train" sound warm, imagine! ... then, oh the sunny tracks! In short this album will give u a smile!)

• The Beatles - Abbey Road (to me their magnum opus. Like somebody said "Abbey Road displays all The Beatles' best wares: Songwriting, guitars, vocal harmonies, overdubs, lyrical creativity, inventive studio work, emotional content and energetic fun. All things for which the band has been known for the five decades since. This album is a big part of why that is."

• The Who – Live at Leeds -- probably the best live album of hard rock
  (PS. Bob Marley & The Wailers – Live! is a fantastic live album too!)

• Eagles – Hotel California -- rock album, with a bit of a country influence, every track is so replayable. The songs also are cinematic, they seem like a movie

• Led Zeppelin I and II -- Hard rock / blues rock / heavy metal too, they were among the pioneers and inspired many great acts. The play and sing so masterfully!

• David Bowie – The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars -- a gem of rock / glam rock. Brilliant songwriting, singing, production, it has such a nice vibe, and it's an easy listen! One of those go-to road trip albums!

• Black Sabbath – self titled, they say it's the first, and most influential heavy metal album. Ozzy "Prince of Darkness" with those vocals of his like he was born for this genre! And crazy playing on the instruments by Iommi, Butler, Ward! The instrumentals are crazy! Just an appetizer, play the ending of "Sleeping Village" into the opening of "Warning", sheeeshhh! 🤒

• Celtic Frost -- their original two EPs "Morbid Tales" and "Emperor's Return", Thrash metal / black metal, among my first listening experiences of the genre, love at first listen, and also among the best ever albums and pioneers of the genre!

• Paul Simon - Graceland -- one of the most beautiful albums I've ever heard. It's exceptional and moving (both physically and emotionally) and catchy album. Sunny, when I want an album that'll give me a smile, this is a bona fide classic.
  Plus, Paul was inspired after traveling to South Africa and playing traditional music with black musicians there. So much, he recorded this album, and was one of the first to bring the south african music to the western, through this experimenting he was so ahead of his time.
  In one sentence I can say for this album: "It plays so easily all I could think of is sunshine" 😁

• PS. talking about special albums/projects, Jai Paul's 2013 leaked album.
  A beautiful work of electronic pop / rnb, and so much fun to listen!
  Songs that sound fresh and ahead of their time even today!
  He officially shared/reissued it in 2019, polished and higher quality.
  But I prefer the 2013 leaked version, because there were some samples he couldn't clear on the official release. (kinda like the Weeknd mixtapes, I prefer the non high fidelity, original 2011 mixtapes, instead of the trilogy 2012 remasters)
  It plays like a concept album, the songs float from one into another!

These albums are among the best ever albums lists, and after listening them first hand, I can definitely say the praise is well deserved. I personally consider these among the albums I'll be replaying for all my life.
There's just so much good music out there!

Lots of great albums dropped this weekend

Unfortunately nothing this year has come close to capturing the magic of Dawn FM. This album is really special.

I honestly think the perceived underperformance of this album is a good thing. I know a ton of people that were told it was trash that had their minds blown when they actually gave it a shot.

Definitely that one as well, specially because Neo was looking at an old man's reflection

Are "Skeletons" and "Repeat After Me" the only time Abel and Kevin Parker have collaborated ?
