I know Abel said Dawn FM is basically what he thought he was doing with Kiss Land and I can see it arrangement/transition wise, Starry Eyes sounds straight out of KL’s cinematic production.

However, I do feel like this album is what he thought he was doing with Starboy. You can definitely tell how much more confident he sounds on How Do I Make You Love Me verses and Sacrifice Pre-Hook vs Secrets and Rockin’ verses

One thing that sticks out to me about this album is the subject matter on this compared to his earlier works. Not to compare them in the sense of how good just it shows how far he’s come as a person/artist.
It plays well within the concept of purgatory.
