Less Than Zero to me is the sequel to "Save Your Tears".
When After Hours LP came out, I said this about SYT... and come to think of it, I would say probably the exact same word for "Less Than Zero":

"You could have told me this is a early 2000s track, and I wouldn't bat an eye. Actually it's done pretty good!"
It has a nice vibe, the beat, the singing. It ain't bad, at all. Has some nice vocals on the second half too. Ahh, slowed down outro/intermission. Feels like they particularly studied this kind of 2000s songs. Done a great job. If there ever will be a trend which gains much interest, and it would be to make music as a tribute/throwback to the sound of the 2000s, then this will be one of the most well made tracks among them!

I can only add that I absolutely love the sound of what seems like a choid in the background vocals, or a hall/concert echo effect added to Abel's voice, absolutely gorgeous! A solid addition to his album closers, a contender for the top!

It instanly became one of my favourite weeknd songs, my major criticism towards Abel these years was the scarcity of quality, replayable songs. This is one of those track that quenches that thirst, like coming home after a long hot day, and drinking fresh cold gourmet water, feels better than o*****ing, and you don't want to stop drinking!
With this particular track, hani the critic is satisfied. I know I'll be replaying this track for years to come. Thank you Abel, you (checks notes) gerontophile (just teasing, we don't kink shame, and we accept you as you are haha 😉🤣)
