Whole time they’re unaware that they’re really just fond of the nostalgia they have tied to those tapes and obviously a new album doesn’t have any memories attached to it yet so they think it’s worse
That’s not what this is at all, lol. Dawn FM can be pretty good (which it is) without surpassing Trilogy (which it doesn’t). It’s nothing deeper than that at all.

Recency bias is a stupid ass argument because he’s released 7 projects between House of Balloons and Dawn, and Dawn is the only one I’ve ever said was on the level of Trilogy.
Fans fall victim to nostalgia all the time. Why else do you think so many artists have fanbases that want them to return to an older sound?
