Music being known by the most people doesnt mean it’s necessarily better, sure most pop music isn’t outright bad but the reason it gets it’s status is usually partly to do with the money put into promoting it and also has a ton to do with the marketability/image/ attractiveness of an artist. It’s not a meritocracy dumb ass

How can something be recognized as great, if it isnt impactful?
The greatest are often those that impact and no s***... you will probably have commercial success, if you are great at something. In anything.
Who do you know that is one of the greatest that are unknown? Why are they unknown if their s*** was great? Just bad luck? S***, we might all be the greatest then.
Im not saying the music is automatically great, because the person is great.
If we talking artists like Jay-Z, MJ, Prince, Beyonce, Rihanna, The Weeknd, Drake... and so on. The Beatles. Bob Dylan. They shifted things. They wasnt planted. They were just that talented and worked their way there.
And no, I wasnt saying everything that is recognized by many people is the greatest thing ever automatically or something. I think you got lost on that part.

People who dont like this album dont like pop or 80s music in general. Idk if it has anything to do with the actual quality and creativity of the project. Critics love it, weeknd fans love it, and people who dig the late 80s and early 90s pop music love it.
People who are more accustomed to rap and rnb will hiss at this, understandably. i wouldnt call that divisive tho. The album aint really made for them. Even AH had street singles
things are just being made to seem way bigger than they are like always lol

I think this is gonna be an album with staying power & will perform way better over time than first week
Wouldn’t look too deeply into it but it is a bit surprising. I’m not really the type to give a f*** about sales in general though honestly
