I can tell you right now as someone who started listening to Abel in 2012 i’m pressing play on MDM, AH, and this before I click Trilogy

Nobody is saying Trilogy isn’t good it’s f***ing incredible but why would I want to listen to that FIRST over the same sound that’s fully realized??

Mans dropped a debut that redefined RnB,his second project was essentially a rock mixtape and the third one was a grimy classic.

yes this aspect one of my favorite on this album. he articulates some words and lines in so many dope ways. attention to details is insane

The trilogy tapes are time capsules. They capture the early 2010s melancholy in an way that people can relate to this day. That's why they are loved while the bunch of "happy" EDM s*** that started to pop at the time fell into obscurity 10 years later.

That being said, the music that he does now is on a lane of his own. He writes better, he sings better and he works with better producers and bigger budgets for his projects. Man is at his peak creatively talking. Not that the mixtapes are bad or anything, is just that he found a way to merge that atmosphere with the pop music he always wanted to make since MDM and mastered it on AH and this album.

Let the past in the past. The only reason the Trilogy is unmatched for so many people is cause they were made at the right time in recent music history. I love trilogy, but imagine if he kept making the dame s*** for 11 years.

Dawn FM is the most creative and experimental The Weeknd ever been. And thats great. Pop music needs creativity.

He’s getting close to making pop music at the quality level of trilogy which is amazing but he doesn’t have a full pop project that’s as good yet
