I absolutely love The Weeknd, but I’m ready to move on from this 80’s era of his music… if he’s happy, that’s fantastic, and the 80’s aren’t like the worst decade ever music-wise, but just feels like he’s stuck in a bit of a rut musically to me. This was 40 years ago now… can we get some current/future-eseque sounds from Abel again at some point?

You’re just blinded by nostalgia breh.. Kissland is a nice moment in time but it’s not all that. You can tell he wasn’t executing his musical ideas the way he wanted. From MDM to this album I feel like he’s hit his stride and is striking a fine balance between the French electro.. the 80s.. while peppering in just enough experimentation.. I wouldn’t mind if he pushed it even further. But he probably WISHED kissland was executed this well
