that first synth on every angel is terrifying reminded me of kiss land so much it shook me
anyone else feeling that way when the song started?
The bass on this is mixed so warm it almost feels like my ears are getting f***ed
I really can’t believe we got Jim Carrey narration on a f***ing Weeknd album and it actually working perfectly and making sense.
Which genius thought of this?
Jim Carrey couching his narration in radio speak in some conceptual mode is literally CRAZY.
Like, imagine telling yourself ten years ago when Abel first came on the scene with the mixtapes that this would happen. It’s insane.
Ace Ventura and The Mask
legendary movie actor with defining films of the 90s and 00s (and beyond?) narrating a Weeknd album. I can’t get over that move and the fact that it f***ing worked.
This album will get bigger and bigger as it marinates more and more. AH got better and better also. As did Kiss Land, Starboy, MDM, and the rest.
This is a huge achievement for all those involved in the production of it
My only gripe? I wish Abel went a bit crazier on the vocals like in Alone Again so we could have live performances like this:
!https://youtu.be/8JrpOFWczLsAbel went insane with some of the vocals on here what do you mean lol
Btw Gasoline, out of time and less than zero are all every bit as good as After Hours (the song)

reckon you were bang on
I need to listen to it properly to give my opinion on this album. Only really listened to it once during the live stream and since then I've played "Is there someone else" multiple times because I LOVE IT!
But I need to listen to the album as a whole to determine how I feel about out. But my gut reaction of this having no (personal) long term replay value from start to finish still holds true as of now.
Music aside, I truly appreciate Abel's artistry and how he always creates a new word/persona/aesthetic to go along with every release. Its beautiful to see him carry out a vision he hinted to us about 10 years ago. I didn't see that in the early album days but I see it now and its great. And for that Im proud to say I've been riding with this guy since day -100.
And also - Abel is the new Daft Punk. And he's perfect guy to carry the torch they held all these years.
Whoever made the take my breath beat is a legend
