Man found himself to be in a dark place and that makes him a p**** ?
TF is wrong with you ?
Sadness has always inspired great art. And from the way it was worded, he recorded sad songs, might as well share them.
So he wrote a song so sad and intense it felt like heaet surgery? Good, that's what art is all about. Encapsulate emotions.
I call him p****, and in the context above half jokingly (with that rad pun too, eh? tough crowd..), cause in in 2011 he let himslef be as vulnerable and as true as he can be through his music and the world welcomed him as a musician. He should not pretend he isn't something he is. Plus, if he tries to cover up those emotions, he would be disrespecting his idols, and the greatest singers/songwriters/aetists that made gorgeous art inspired from sadness.
PS. When I lost a dear person to me to suicide, two songs were rrplayed in my phone for a couple of days: Lorde's Writer in the Dark, and Abel's Echoes of Silence (the title track). I didn't care what the lyrics said. My whole being wanted to shut the brain off, and just listen the song as a song, not as lyrics, but as a song. The vocals lost meaning, they became an instrument, sound, music. The other individual instruments I might not know their names to list them... sound.. music... The production choices by the engineers/producers, some pitch adjusted here, some echo added there... sound.. music...
;
Anyways, I disagree with what he said in the interview, if, allegedly, that is the truth. He shouldn't repress those feelings, the younger, less experienced but hungrier Abel of the beginning would work on those sad songs and do them justice.
