I know it’s gonna go back and forth for me but idk man this is hitting different
think i’m low-key getting triggered cuz i couldn’t listen to this record on acid like i did AH first listen
weeknd started out the decade with 2 possible classics
weeknd started out the decade with 2 possible classics
I agree with everything except his writing tbh
gasoline offered some of his best lyrics to date imo it was great hearing different subject matter
wanted him to explore themes like nihilism and existentialism much more than he did throughout the album
he expanded on them in the skits but not really in the songs themselves which were more about heartbreak and how he misses his girl. woe is me
got worse in the 2nd half where some lyrics sound like parodies of himself
Just don't break my heart
Don't let me down, please
Don't you break my heart
I don't know if I can take it anymoreTake it anymore, take it anymore
I can't take another heartbreak or I'll end it all
And the girl I used to love
We broke up in the club
song still slaps but cmon you're 31, these lyrics sound straight outta kiss land
feel like there's a massive disconnect between what the theme of the album is portrayed as VS what it actually is with the lyrics
