In order to make a cohesive album you need to be a good story teller which means you need to be a good writer. You are contradicting yourself. You just stated that r&b/pop artist are known for not having good lyrics and are mostly known for melodies. I agree to that statement, but then you can’t argue that he is trying to make a cohesive album, because in order to that you need to be a good lyricist.
