It's kinda nuts how much the first half of this album has come around on me.

My first listen was with over-ears, in bed, in the dark (as with all Cudi albums) and I needed what we got from Solo Dolo 3 and on, but tbh the last couple of days, songs from the first half have been stuck in my head more. Well......those and The Pale Moonlight of course. That s*** knocks.

I went back and listened to PPDS and tbh that album sounds way more like a man on the moon record than this one.

I waited for the right time to listen to this I didn't wanna just passively listen to this for the first time when I was at work or whatever I've just been looping it so Cudi can get the streams. Last night I got in my car and drove up to this really rich neighborhood and kinda just drove around following wherever the bright Christmas lights were. Eventually I got lost and go to the end of a cul-de-sac which was really high up I just parked my car, turned off the lights and vibed out to Elsie's Baby Boy and in the distance I was able to see the NYC skyline with a soft glow on top of it. One of the nicest drive's I've taken in a while

I always felt like that was MOTM this whole time he just didn't give it that title because he didn't like the idea at that point

cudi referred to himself as a myth twice on this record. First since, "call me moon man" a great loosie around motm1 time... i just love this wrap around of bravado and monikers we havent heard in 11 years. and all so subtle. not shoved in your face and spoon fed like some of the sequel albums weve gotten in hip hop

Feel like ppds was the warm up album for MOTM 3, not so much he didnt like the idea of calling it MOTM 3 but I dont think he was even ready to tackle that yet and ppds served to get the ball rolling.

Tracks like The Commander & Rose Golden definitely have MOTM blueprints in them
